A jewel in the crown of Lombardy

Welcome to the Oltrepò Pavese, the large wine region only 50 km south of Milan, not yet discovered by tourists, but certainly worth visting.

Situated in the utmost southern part of Lombardy, east of Piedmont, the Oltrepò is a region in which century old villages alternate with castles and forests. It is no surprise that this region is sometimes called the Tuscany of the North of Italy.

Oltrepo hills

South of the Po the plain quickly turns into a hilly landscape: the Oltrepò lies at the foothills of the Ligurian Alpes and the Apennines.

The landscape of the Oltrepò is beautiful, the people are kind, life is authentic and there are lots of possibilities for walking, hiking, cycling and sight-seeing. Pace of life is slow, food is traditional and wine can be tasted anywhere, in one of the over 100 independent cantines.

Have a look at the promotional video of the Oltrepò and discover the landscape, its history and its wines and winemakers.

For every taste a Bed & Breakfast - Vacation Rental Apartment

The best way to discover the Oltrepò, its people and its surroundings, is to stay in one of the friendly holiday accommodations we present here:

Villa I Due Padroni, Villa Gaia, B&B Bacialupo, Agriturismo Bagarellum, and Casa Fernanda

These houses are all privately owned and their welcoming proprietors are born pavesi, or have been living here already for many years.
